Notes

'Petite Louise' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Petite Louise') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Abraham Nieuwenhuizen bred it in 1918. The single flowers are large, bright amaranth purple, and open in mid to late spring. They show well above the compact, large plant.

Pairs well with American Gold Rush black-eyed Susan, Queen of Night tulip, and Western sword fern.
