Notes
'Philip Kunz' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Philip Kunz') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Large, dense double blooms open light pink and fade to near white, with pale pink lingering in the centers. The flowers appear in late spring and early summer on graceful three foot stems, so they make good cut flowers. William Henry Krekler bred it.
Pairs well with Aromatic aster, Royal fern, and Spanish bluebell.
