Notes

'Phoebe Cary' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Phoebe Cary') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The large double flowers open pale old-rose-pink and darken toward the center. They have a moderate rose scent and bloom in late spring to early summer. The stems are tall and strong but lax at the base.

Pairs well with Goldsturm black-eyed Susan, Carnaval De Nice tulip, and Cinnamon fern.
