Notes

'Pilgrim' peony (Paeonia 'Pilgrim') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It is a tall, vigorous single with large, fragrant, rose-red flowers that hold their shape and keep well when cut. Lyman D. Glasscock bred it, and Elizabeth Glasscock Falk introduced it in 1964. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice.

Pairs well with Abiqua Drinking Gourd hosta, Switchgrass, and Stargazer lily.
