Notes

Pinxterbloom azalea (Rhododendron periclymenoides) is a shrub for borders, hedges, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Pink or white flowers open in large clusters before or with the leaves. Rabbits tend to nibble other plants first. At least half a day of sun keeps it from getting leggy.

Pairs well with Halcyon hosta, Douglas fir, and Carnaval De Nice tulip.
