Notes

Florida azalea (Rhododendron austrinum) is a shrub for borders, specimens, hedges, and woodland gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes part sun or part shade and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It sits low on the menu for rabbits. The fragrant yellow, orange, or peach flowers open in clusters before or with the leaves. It is one of the easiest native rhododendrons to grow and needs no special pampering.

Pairs well with Lady fern, Little brown jug, and Snake's head.
