Notes

'Pocahontas' lilac (Syringa hyacinthiflora 'Pocahontas') is a shrub for borders, hedges, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to moist soil of most types. Deer rarely make it their first choice. Fragrant flowers open in early to late spring. Butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Blush peony, Angelique tulip, Blonde Ambition blue grama, and Ernest Markham clematis.
