Notes
'Pocahontas' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Pocahontas') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Sarah A. Pleas bred it in 1914. The large, bright pink flowers open in midseason and have a Japanese type form. The plant is medium size and spreads, so give it room.
Pairs well with Knapweed, Rose, and Blue grama.
