Notes

'Prairie Princess' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Prairie Princess') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Large, full double flowers open medium pink and smell sweet in late spring. They last a long time in a vase. Don Hollingsworth bred it in 1973.

Pairs well with Shrub rose, Sensitive fern, and Grape hyacinth.
