Notes
'Priam' apple (Malus domestica 'Priam') is a tree for the food garden, grown for fresh eating. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Bees visit the spring blooms, which open in early to late spring. It is not self-fertile, so plant a second apple nearby for pollination. PRI introduced it in 1974.
Pairs well with Sweet woodruff, Standing Ovation little bluestem, and Carnaval De Nice tulip.
