Notes

'Purple Majesty' ornamental millet (Cenchrus violaceus 'Purple Majesty') is a grass for borders, containers, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 2, or down to -50°F (-46°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to average, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. It grows 36 to 60 inches tall and 24 to 36 inches wide. The purple and yellow blooms appear in summer and again in autumn. Birds visit the plant, and it tolerates drought.

Pairs well with Zahara Starlight Rose zinnia, Rock soapwort, and Pencil Point common juniper.
