Notes

'Purple Pixie' bishop's hat (Epimedium grandiflorum 'Purple Pixie') is a perennial for ground cover and shade garden accents. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and dry soil. Spidery pink flowers with long white spurs open in early to late spring, and new leaves emerge rhubarb red. The foliage forms a mound that does not spread. Deer tend to pass it by.

Pairs well with Autumn moor grass, Glory-of-the-snow, and Ebony spleenwort.
