Notes

'Rubra' pussytoes (Antennaria dioica 'Rubra') is a perennial for ground cover. It is hardy to USDA zone 2, or down to -50°F (-46°C). This plant likes full sun and dry soil. It forms mats of silver-grey leaves topped with fuzzy, deep pink flowers in late spring, and bees visit them. Deer rarely make it their first choice. You can plant it under spring bulbs like crocus.

Pairs well with Coral Eye moss phlox, Eryngo, and Red fescue.
