Notes

'Queen of Hearts' peony (Paeonia 'Queen of Hearts') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Light yellow flowers have violet-red flares, age to cream, and draw bees and butterflies. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. Alonzo B. Franklin bred it.

Pairs well with Blue Angel hosta, Prairie dropseed, and Culver’s root.
