Notes

'Radiant Velvet' peony (Paeonia 'Radiant Velvet') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. The fragrant maroon-red flowers face upward and attract butterflies and bees. Plants stand about 28 inches tall and need no support.

Pairs well with Earth Angel hosta, Prairie dropseed, Nodding onion, and Paprika yarrow.
