Notes

'Randy' magnolia (Magnolia 'Randy') is a shrub for specimen planting, cottage gardens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Reddish-purple, fragrant flowers open in early to late spring. Bees visit the blooms, and birds also come to the plant.

Pairs well with Korean spice viburnum, Autumn Frost hosta, and Carnaval De Nice tulip.
