Notes
'Rare Carving' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Rare Carving') is a perennial for borders, cut flower gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The loose, semi-double flowers are medium pink with large yellow stamens. Tall, strong stems hold the blooms up well. Ernest Flint Kelsey bred it.
Pairs well with Culver’s root, Sedge, and African Queen lily.
