Notes

'Rashoomon' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Rashoomon') is a perennial for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The large Japanese type blooms open in mid season with rose-red guard petals and a fragrant center of slender staminodes. Its strong, erect stems carry shining green leaves. The blooms fade fast, so enjoy them soon after they open.

Pairs well with Culver’s root, Sedge, and Dense blazing star.
