Notes

'Red Admiral' peony (Paeonia 'Red Admiral') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. Dark red, slightly ruffling flowers with yellow stamens open in early to late spring and attract butterflies. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. Derek Irvine bred it.

Pairs well with Lady of the snows, Cheyenne Spirit echinacea, and Weigela.
