Notes

'Red Ball' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Red Ball') is a perennial for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Arthur L. Murawska bred it as a seedling of 'Félix Crousse'. The bright red double flowers open in late spring on tall, strong stems and have a slight fragrance.

Pairs well with Columbine, Smooth aster, and Sedge.
