Notes

'Red Cockade' peony (Paeonia 'Red Cockade') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its bright crimson flowers are fragrant, with frilled, crinkled petals like a big fringed tulip. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. Arthur Percy Saunders bred it.

Pairs well with Creeping phlox, Limelight hydrangea, Prairie dropseed, and Nodding onion.
