Notes

Red currant (Ribes rubrum) is a shrub for food gardens and pollinator gardens. This plant likes full or part sun. It grows 48 to 72 inches tall and spreads 36 to 60 inches wide. Yellow flowers open from early to late spring and attract bees. The berries are grown for fresh eating, jams, jellies, and juices. Plants are self-fertile, so one shrub can set fruit.

Pairs well with Serviceberry, Purple top, and African marigold.
