Notes

'Red Elegance' peony (Paeonia 'Red Elegance') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The fragrant, rose-red double flowers are cone shaped, and strong, straight stems hold one flower each. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. William S. Bockstoce bred it.

Pairs well with Rainforest Sunrise hosta, Sensation lilac, and Nodding onion.
