Notes

'Red Plume' gaillardia (Gaillardia 'Red Plume') is a perennial for borders and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun, average moisture, and sandy or loamy soil. Butterflies and bees visit the flowers, and it blooms in spring, summer, and autumn. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Drought and salt are no trouble for it.

Pairs well with Coralbells, Delphinium, and Foxtail barley.
