Notes

'Red River' raspberry (Rubus idaeus 'Red River') is a shrub for the food garden, grown for fresh eating, freezing, canning, and baking. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist soil. Canes reach just 3 feet tall and bear sweet, juicy red berries from mid to late summer. The thorny canes fruit in their 2nd year, so cut them back after fruiting to encourage new growth.

Pairs well with Incrediball Blush smooth hydrangea, Honey Gold peony, and Ernest Markham clematis.
