Notes
'Red Signal' peony (Paeonia 'Red Signal') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its fragrant scarlet blooms have large, firm petals and attract butterflies and bees. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. Mrs. Mary E.G. Freeborn bred it.
Pairs well with Obedient plant, Little bluestem, and Smooth hydrangea.
