Notes

'Rehbraun' switchgrass (Panicum virgatum 'Rehbraun') is a grass for borders, accents, winter interest, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to wet, sandy or clay soil. It forms a clump that reaches 30 to 48 inches tall and turns color in fall. Butterflies and birds visit it, and it tolerates drought and salt. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Little bluestem, Blue wild indigo, and Great blue lobelia.
