Notes

'Renykens' peony (Paeonia 'Renykens') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. It bears single, fragrant red flowers that attract butterflies and bees. William Henry Krekler bred this early hybrid in 1975.

Pairs well with White Swan coneflower, Fire Island hosta, and Standing Ovation little bluestem.
