Notes

'Fire Island' hosta (Hosta 'Fire Island') is a perennial for shade gardens, borders, and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to moist, loamy or clay soil. It grows 12 to 15 inches tall and spreads 18 to 21 inches wide. Lavender flowers are fragrant and attract butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with White Swan coneflower, Strawberry Sundae panicle hydrangea, and Mount Hood daffodil.
