Notes

Carmine aloe (Aloe caesia) is a succulent for border plantings and low maintenance gardens. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 9 and warmer, down to about 20°F (-7°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. Give it full sun and dry to average, sandy or loamy soil. It sits low on the menu for deer. This evergreen is drought tolerant, and bees and birds visit its flowers.

Pairs well with Aeonium, Parry's agave, Stonecrop, and Lemon grass.
