Notes

'River Styx' peony (Paeonia 'River Styx') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its double, deep pink flowers fade to salmon and carry a slight citrus scent. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Joshua Scholten bred it.

Pairs well with Praying Hands hosta, Queen of Night tulip, Prairie dropseed, and Catnip.
