Notes
'Rohanii' European beech (Fagus sylvatica 'Rohanii') is a tree for specimen planting, accent, privacy screen, and hedge use. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. Its dense form grows slowly and gives fall color. Birds visit the tree.
Pairs well with Paperbark maple, Christmas fern, and Lily of the valley.
