Notes
'Rollissonii' drooping laurel (Leucothoe fontanesiana 'Rollissonii') is an arching evergreen shrub for shade gardens, woodland edges, hedges, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and dry to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It blooms in early to late spring, and bees and butterflies visit the flowers. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. The evergreen leaves keep the bed interesting through winter.
Pairs well with Solomon's seal, Cinnamon fern, Aureola Japanese forest grass, and Wedding Gown bigleaf hydrangea.
