Notes

'Rose Queen' spider flower (Cleome houtteana 'Rose Queen') is an annual for borders and low maintenance beds. Frost will kill it, so set it out only after the last frost in spring. Give it full sun and dry to average, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Rabbits tend to nibble other plants first. Its flowers are fragrant and draw butterflies, hummingbirds, and birds. It also tolerates drought, so it suits a hot, dry spot.

Pairs well with Mexican sunflower, Snapdragon, and First Knight fountain grass.
