Notes

'Roseum Superbum' catawba rhododendron (Rhododendron catawbiense 'Roseum Superbum') is an evergreen shrub for specimen planting, hedges, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and dry to moist soil. It grows dense and reaches 7 to 10 feet tall and wide. Lavender to pink flowers open in spring, and butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit them. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal.

Pairs well with Eastern white pine, New Jersey tea, and Standing Ovation little bluestem.
