'Royalty' maple (Acer shirasawanum 'Royalty') is a tree for specimen planting, shade, and fall color. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average moisture. New leaves emerge dark red and turn yellowish green in summer. The long, narrow leaves have serrated edges. Fall color brings yellows, oranges, and reds.

Pairs well with Ostrich fern, Peony, and Cotoneaster.
