Notes

'Rubra' imperial fritillary (Fritillaria imperialis 'Rubra') is a bulb for borders, specimen planting, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, loamy or clay soil. It grows 36 to 48 inches tall and bears fragrant orange-red blooms. Deer rarely make it their first choice. The plant also tolerates drought.

Pairs well with Karl Foerster feather reed grass, Green and gold, and Autumn fern.
