Notes

'Rubra Maxima' crown imperial (Fritillaria imperialis 'Rubra Maxima') is a bulb for border, specimen, and low maintenance use. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. Its fragrant flowers attract bees, and it is drought tolerant. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. It grows slowly and stands erect, reaching 35 to 47 inches tall.

Pairs well with West Point tulip, Thalia daffodil, and Armenian grape hyacinth.
