Notes

Eryngo (Eryngium alpinum) is a perennial for borders and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 2, or down to -50°F (-46°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to average, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. It grows 24 to 30 inches tall and bears blue flowers in summer. Butterflies, bees, and birds visit it, and it handles drought and salt. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Rock soapwort, Red fescue, and Pencil Point common juniper.
