Notes

'Ruby Bay' peony (Paeonia 'Ruby Bay') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. Dark red blooms open in early to late spring, and the petals darken to black toward the base. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. Derek Irvine bred it.

Pairs well with Blue star, Big bluestem, Grape hyacinth, and River birch.
