Notes

'Ruby King' Japanese iris (Iris ensata 'Ruby King') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun and wet soil. It blooms from early to late summer, so it adds color when many spring flowers have faded. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal.

Pairs well with Queen of the prairie, Prairie Dog switchgrass, and Arctic Fire red twig dogwood.
