Notes

Rusty foxglove (Digitalis ferruginea) is a perennial for borders, low maintenance beds, and naturalized plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and average to moist soil of most types. Tall spikes of creamy yellow flowers with rusty veins open in spring and summer, and butterflies, hummingbirds, and birds visit the blooms. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. Give it a spot at the back of the bed.

Pairs well with Tickseed, Ostrich fern, and Prairie dropseed.
