Notes

Sage (Salvia chamaedryoides) is a perennial for borders, containers, ground cover, and xeriscape. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Deer tend to pass it by. Blue flowers appear in spring, summer, and autumn. Butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit the blooms, and the leaves are fragrant.

Pairs well with Elfin mother of thyme, Star of persia, and Shenandoah switchgrass.
