Notes

'Goldilocks' black-eyed Susan (Rudbeckia hirta 'Goldilocks') is an annual for borders, cut flowers, pollinator gardens, and cottage gardens. This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows fast and reaches 12 to 24 inches tall with an erect habit. Butterflies, bees, and birds visit it, and it handles drought and salt. Deer rarely make it their first choice. Cut a few stems for a vase and more flowers will follow.

Pairs well with Cherokee Sunset rudbeckia hirta, Ageratum, Blue Paradise garden phlox, and Indian grass.
