Notes

'Saharan Sun' peony (Paeonia 'Saharan Sun') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. The ball-shaped yellow blooms have maroon flares and a light vanilla scent, and Nate Bremer bred it. Winter may kill the stems, but it regrows from basal shoots in spring. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits.

Pairs well with Blue star, Big bluestem, and Blue-eyed grass.
