Notes

'San Diego' tulip (Tulipa 'San Diego') is a bulb for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and average moisture. It grows about 16 inches tall and bears purple-red flowers from early to late spring. J.J. Buis & Zn. bred it, and the blooms last well in a vase.

Pairs well with Mount Hood daffodil, Karl Rosenfield peony, and Royal Standard hosta.
