Notes

'Sandra' Ozark witch hazel (Hamamelis vernalis 'Sandra') is a shrub for borders, specimen planting, hedges, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. The yellow flowers are fragrant and attract bees. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. The dense form grows at a moderate pace and tolerates drought.

Pairs well with Inkberry, Switchgrass, and Cinnamon fern.
