Notes
'Arnold Promise' Japanese witch hazel (Hamamelis intermedia 'Arnold Promise') is a shrub for borders, hedges, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer tend to browse other plants first. The yellow flowers are fragrant and open in winter. The leaves also turn a bright color in fall.
Pairs well with Autumn fern, Rainbow's End hosta, and Juneberry.
