Notes

'Sarcoxie' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Sarcoxie') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Arthur O. Wild bred it in 1914. The tall plant bears fragrant, double red blooms with broad guard petals and narrow center petals.

Pairs well with Obedient plant, Prairie dropseed, and Black Hero tulip.
