Notes

'Sardonyx' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Sardonyx') is a perennial for borders, cut flower use, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Mrs. Ruth H. Brant raised it as a seedling of 'Richard Carvel'. It is a red peony, so the blooms add strong color to a bouquet.

Pairs well with Fringed bleeding heart, Standing Ovation little bluestem, and Carnaval De Nice tulip.
